About the Council
“Citizens dedicated to improving the quality of life in Tallahassee and Leon County”
The 21st Century Council’s Purpose is to support citizens efforts to:
- Enhance the quality of life in Tallahassee and Leon County, Florida
- Strengthen and improve the capability of community institutions, groups, and organizations to positively impact our community
- Forecast and describe emerging trends and opportunities that will impact the quality of life in our community
- Act as a catalyst for bringing together decision-makers to find new ways to improve our community
The Council was chartered in 1990 as a non-partisan, non-profit corporation and maintains IRS 501(c)(3) status.

Strategic Plan
A strategic plan was developed to guide the Council in its long term mission and goals. It was developed through a collaborative effort to establish the long term goals and focus on the intent of the Quality of Life efforts to assist decision-makers in examining the effectiveness of strategies and the use of resources with an eye toward measurable improvement.
